What is HRIC?
HRIC stands for “Human Resources Independent Consultants” of Southern California. We are a tax-exempt organization established in 1994 with independent consultant members providing HR services in such areas as: Recruiting, HR Generalists, HRIS, EEO, Benefits, Compensation, Training, Diversity, Outplacement, among others.
What does HRIC do?
We provide a forum for networking, assist members in finding consulting jobs, and provide employers with a free on-line job posting service for their open HR positions. We offer educational topics and discussion forums related to HR at our monthly membership meetings. We also market our members’ services to Southern California’s employers, providing them easy access to our members.
Where and when do you meet?
We meet the second Tuesday evening of every month in Orange County. Details and a map are listed in the “Meetings” section.
Do I have to pay to attend my first HRIC meeting?
No, but we ask that you attend only two meetings prior to becoming a member.
What do you do in the meetings?
Each meeting offers members an opportunity to present their “elevator speech”, network and to share solutions to common problems in the various HR consulting areas. We also have a speaker or open forum providing information useful to HR independent consultants. Meetings are free and dinner and drinks are available.
Who can join?
Anyone who is currently or contemplating providing HR consulting services is encouraged to join. You may also join if you have either three years of demonstrated HR experience or are a graduate of a Human Resources related program.
Can Vendors or Agencies join?
Yes, but the Board reserves the right to approve or disapprove each applicant to assure that your organization adds value to our members and the HR community in general. Once approved as a member, all privileges will be available to you at the same price as other members.
I am still an employee but I am thinking about getting into HR consulting. Can I become a member?
Yes! Many of our members have used information provided by HRIC to start their own consulting business.
How much is membership?
Annual membership dues are only $125. Your dues may be tax deductible. Please contact your CPA or Accountant for details.
What do I get for my membership fee?
Once you are a member you may attend all monthly meetings. You will have your Member Profile and photo on the website which can be accessed by employers and potential clients. You will be granted access to the online Job Leads and other HRIC “Members Only” information we may have to share with members.
